Every vial in the Peptide Sciences range is labelled for laboratory research use only. That is not a formality or a disclaimer to skim past — it describes the regulatory category the product sits in, and it means the vial was not manufactured to a standard intended for injection into people. We stock 28 Peptide Sciences lines at £34–£195. This page explains what the label actually commits to.
What the phrase means
Research-use-only material is sold on the basis that it will be used in a laboratory, not in a person. The label is what keeps the sale outside the medicines regime. Under the Human Medicines Regulations 2012, supplying an unlicensed medicine for human use is an offence; selling a research reagent is not. The wording on the vial is doing that legal work.
The practical consequence follows from the legal one. A product that is never intended to enter a human body does not need to meet the sterility, endotoxin and particulate standards that an injectable medicine does. It may well be clean. Nothing obliges it to be, and nothing independently confirms that it is.
What we stock
All 28 lines are in stock. The range is unusually coherent — it is a peptide catalogue rather than a general one:
- Growth-hormone secretagogues — GHRP-2, GHRP-6, Hexarelin, Ipamorelin, Sermorelin, MOD GRF 1-29, CJC-1295 and CJC-1295 DAC
- Repair and recovery — BPC-157, TB-500, MGF, PEG-MGF, IGF-1 DES
- Metabolic — AOD 9604, HGH Fragment 176-191, Tesamorelin, Adipotide
- Other — Epithalon in three sizes, Follistatin 315, Ace-031, Melanotan 2
Cheapest is GHRP-6 5mg at £34; dearest is Epithalon 50mg at £195, with most of the range clustered between £45 and £85.
Why these arrive as powder
Peptides ship lyophilised — freeze-dried — because they are unstable in solution. That has consequences most product pages skip:
- You reconstitute it yourself, with bacteriostatic water. Whatever sterility the vial had, your technique now determines.
- Once reconstituted it degrades, faster at room temperature. A vial mixed and left out is not the product you bought.
- Concentration is your arithmetic. The same 5mg vial can be made up to wildly different strengths depending on the water added, which is the most common source of dosing error in this category.
Where this sits in UK law
Most research peptides are not controlled drugs, so possession is generally not an offence. Supply for human use is a different question entirely, and the research-use label is precisely what keeps a seller on the right side of it. We set out the detail in are peptides legal in the UK?, and the risk profile in peptide side effects.
What we cannot tell you
Whether any given vial contains what the label says, at the stated mass, free of contaminants. Peptide Sciences does not publish independent assay data and we have not commissioned any. Anyone quoting you a purity percentage for this brand is quoting a number with no traceable source — see how to check a brand is genuine for the checks that do mean something.
Frequently asked questions
Does “research use only” mean the product is low quality?
No — it means quality is unverified rather than poor. The label describes a regulatory category, not a grade. The honest position is that you do not know, and cannot know from the listing.
What is the difference between CJC-1295 and CJC-1295 DAC?
The DAC version carries a drug affinity complex that substantially extends its half-life, which changes dosing frequency. We stock both, at £55 and £82 respectively.
How long does a reconstituted peptide last?
Refrigerated, most are usable for a few weeks; at room temperature, far less. Reconstitute only what you will use, keep it cold, and treat a vial that has been warm as compromised.
