Blackstone Labs is frequently searched alongside steroid brands, but it is not one. It is a US sports-supplement company making pre-workouts, test-support products and prohormone-category capsules. The legal position, the risk profile and the questions worth asking are all different as a result. We stock 10 lines at £22–£104.
Why the distinction matters
An anabolic steroid is a Class C controlled drug in the UK. A sports supplement is a food product. Those are not adjacent categories with a grey area between them — they sit under entirely different legislation, and conflating them leads people to wrong conclusions in both directions.
Supplements are legal to buy, hold and use. They are also not assessed for efficacy or content before sale. No regulator checks that the label matches the capsule before it reaches a shelf. The freedom and the weakness come from the same fact.
What we stock

The prohormone question
Several products sit in what is loosely called the prohormone category — compounds intended to convert to active hormones after ingestion. This is the part of the supplement market that most often collides with drug law, because the boundary between “supplement” and “anabolic agent” is a chemical one that regulators have redrawn repeatedly.
The honest position: the legal status of individual compounds in this category has changed before and may change again, and it differs between the US, where these are formulated, and the UK, where you are buying. If a specific compound’s status matters to you, check it against current UK law rather than assuming the product category settles it.
If you are a tested athlete
This is where the real risk sits, and it is worth being blunt. Supplements are a well-documented route to an inadvertent anti-doping violation. Contamination can occur without any intent from the manufacturer — shared production lines, ingredient sourcing, cross-contact.
Under strict liability, it is still your positive test. Intent is not a defence. If you compete under WADA or UKAD rules:
- Use only products with batch-level third-party certification, such as Informed Sport, and check the specific batch number rather than trusting the brand
- Treat prohormone-category products as disqualifying by default
- Keep the packaging and a sample of anything you take
We do not hold certification data for these lines, so we cannot tell you a given batch is certified. If certification matters to you, that absence is your answer.
Frequently asked questions
Are Blackstone Labs products steroids?
No. They are supplements, including some prohormone-category products. That is a different legal category from anabolic steroids and a different risk profile.
Will Blackstone Labs products fail a drug test?
Prohormone-category products very plausibly will, and any supplement can produce a positive through contamination. Without batch-level certification you have no basis for assuming otherwise.
Why are they listed alongside steroid brands?
Because the same customers buy both, not because they are the same kind of product. The sports supplements category is where the rest of that range sits.
